Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to your use of the Permata Code website and to enrolment in our online AI development courses. Please read them at your own pace.

Last updated: 20 May 2025

These terms are written to be clear and fair. If anything is unclear, please contact us before enrolling. We are happy to answer questions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Permata Code website or enrolling in any of our courses, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or register for a course. These terms apply to all visitors and learners.

2. Our Courses

Permata Code offers online AI development courses for adult learners in Malaysia and beyond. Our current programmes are:

  • AI Foundations — a six-week introductory course covering Python basics, data handling, and core model concepts (RM 990)
  • Machine Learning Practice — a ten-week intermediate course covering data work, model training, and evaluation (RM 1,400)
  • Deep Learning Framework — a thirteen-week advanced course covering neural network architectures, training, and deployment (RM 1,850)

Course content, schedules, and delivery formats may be updated from time to time. Any material changes to a course you have enrolled in will be communicated to you in advance.

3. Enrolment

To enrol in a course, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Provide accurate personal information during registration
  • Complete payment in full (or as agreed, if a payment arrangement is made)

Enrolment is confirmed only once payment has been received and you have received a confirmation message from us. Places in each cohort are limited to maintain a supportive learning environment.

4. Payment

All course fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and include any applicable taxes. Payment is due at the time of enrolment unless a separate arrangement has been agreed in writing.

We accept payment through the methods listed at the time of registration. If you encounter any difficulty with payment, please contact us at [email protected] and we will do our best to assist.

5. Refunds and Withdrawals

We understand that circumstances change. Our refund policy is as follows:

  • If you withdraw more than 7 days before the course start date, you are entitled to a full refund.
  • If you withdraw within 7 days of the course start date but before the course begins, a processing fee of RM 150 will be deducted.
  • Once a course has begun, refunds are not available for completed weeks. A partial refund for remaining weeks may be considered at our discretion.

To request a withdrawal or refund, please contact us in writing at [email protected]. Refunds are processed within 14 business days.

6. Course Access

Upon enrolment, you will be given access to the learning materials for your registered course. Course access terms vary by programme:

  • AI Foundations and Machine Learning Practice: access to recorded sessions for 6 months after cohort completion
  • Deep Learning Framework: lasting access to materials and a quiet alumni space, as described in the course outline

Your login credentials are personal and must not be shared with others. Sharing access may result in enrolment being suspended without a refund.

7. Learner Conduct

We aim to keep our learning environment calm, respectful, and productive. Learners are expected to:

  • Treat instructors and peers with courtesy in all communications
  • Participate in good faith in group activities and peer channels
  • Refrain from sharing copyrighted course materials outside the platform
  • Respect the privacy of other learners

We reserve the right to remove a learner from a course for serious breaches of conduct. In such cases, any refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

8. Intellectual Property

All course materials, including videos, notes, code samples, and exercises, are the intellectual property of Permata Code. You may use these materials for your own personal learning but may not reproduce, distribute, or sell them without our written permission.

Work you produce during the course — such as projects and code you write yourself — remains your own.

9. Limitation of Liability

Permata Code provides its courses and website in good faith. To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of our website or participation in our courses. We do not make representations about specific career or salary outcomes, as these depend on individual effort and external factors outside our control.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or any matter that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these terms or from your enrolment in a Permata Code course shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
